The state of Washington has recently revised the requirements for licensure as a real estate broker. First of all, the terms have been adjusted. Brokers are now the agents who are supervised and trained by Managing Brokers and/or Designated Brokers. Designated Brokers own or have a principle interest in the firm.
The boiled down version of the Broker license requirements for the state of Washington are:
1. You must be at least 18 years old.
2. Must have a high school diploma.
3. Must successfully complete two approved pre-license courses (which can be completed on line):
a. 60-hour course in Real Estate Fundamentals
b. 30-hour course in Real Estate Practices
4. Pass the state licensing exam.
